With the line's figures being announced

http://www.rebelscum.com/CH-TVC.asp

What figures would you like to see made in this line? As a collector from the vintage period, I would love to see a Moff Tarkin figure in the vintage style packaging - I can't believe they didn't make one 1st time around. How about the Lars from New Hope?

I would also like to see a royal guard from Return of the Jedi or the human skiff guard seen in the film - again surprised that they haven't made that one either.

Bib Fortuna would also be a good one.

What do others think?

I am not very into this line. So far, C 3PO looks the best.

Now as for the PT being on OT cards, I would like to see Clieg Lars, Tey How and Qui Gon.

I just heard from on the forcecast that you can peel the boba fett sticker off the cards pretty well. The sticker may rip though. I'm not sure about this vintage line. I really wish they would have made the card backs the same as they used to be in the 70's and 80's. They really need a figure line up on the back of these cards. I'm probably only going to get the bounty hunters and anyone new who hasn't been done. Or whoever catches my eye. If the bounty hunters are all new sculpts, it will be hard not to open them. I don't know. I think if they are going to put the Kenner logo on these, they should have went all the way and made them totally vintage cards.

While I'm on the subject, I know the vintage boba fett mail away is cool, but I also remember when empire came out. The figure that was REALLY cool was Yoda. Yoda totally made that movie, among other things. Anyway, I'd like to see a TOTALLY vintage card with a TOTALLY vintage yoda figure released as a mail away. The snake, the cane and everything. If they put that on the shelves I bet you wouldn't even be able to find one. I think it would be very popular.

edit: I have to say that Bespin Luke looks really good too. And even though they are not putting the figure line up on the back, I do like the original figure picture on there. At least that's pretty cool.

And I must say they do look nice all together like this...

Is the Bespin Luke the same sculpt they used in the VOTC in 2007? Seems to have the same card and looks the same.

Look at the bottom of this page. Dan Curto, the photographer at Rebelscum claims it is all new. I'm glad they are getting the faces a lot closer to the actors likeness finally. That snowspeeder luke looks pretty good too that came out a little while back.

It is an all new sculpt. They went all out with it too. Most of the other figures are either kit bashed or modified repacks. C3PO is an all new figure. Dak is a standard pilot body with a new head sculpt.

Boba Fett is another updated version of the Evolutions figure, supposedly with a much closer color scheme to the Empire movie.

The Vader is a modified Legacy collection figure, with a three piece movie accurate helmet. Dan has been giving the figures really good reviews for the most part.

To my knowledge the Dengar figure is new as well. Finally, a Dengar that isn't a stiff knee melty-head sculpt. It actually looks pretty good.

I wouldn't mind seeing a new version of Han in Carbonite - perhaps dressed with shackles from Bespin with a decent block to fit into. The last one with the "glowing" red face part didn't really do it for me.

Or how about releasing the other scanning crew figure advertised with the last line of figures? He would look good on vintage cardback

If we see the Scanner crew figure at all, it will probably be in a battle pack. They have no plan on putting him on a single card, because now with the vintage styl card they can not pack larger acessories with the figures.

Last I heard was they WANT to get him out, with the other half of the gear. They just need to figure out how. I thought the answer was pretty simple myself, just bump one of the re packs from the TRU wave and put him in there!

Dan just posted the AOTC wave 4 vintage figures

wave 4 vintage

and the wave 5 mixed vintage figures.

wave 5 vintage

Which ones are you going to pick up? I know I want the Zam figure for sure to open. Not sure about the rest. I might get the Luke. I have to admit that the clones look really nice on vintage cards. Especially Cody that has come out and now Gree. This Mace figure looks a lot like Samual Jackson too. I might have to grab this one.

I wish I could see the photography better on the cards. I might get the Jango and keep it carded too.

I do love this style of packaging and it is the best line since the 30th anniversary collection. In terms of figures too - they look great , but I am concerned that with resculpted characters - such as Jango and Super Battle Droid, what are collectors getting in terms of new faetures that hasn't already been offered in previous lines? Jango was available in the 30th line with removable helmet and again last year. Don't get me wrong Hasbro - I love the line, just a few concerns.

I agree. I feel that we have all of these figures already. The packaging alone will not make me spend $9 to own these. With that being said, I did just see the card for Jango and man does it look good on vintage. I will probably only get one or two out of each wave to keep carded.

I agree Adam - it is cool to see figures on these great cards. In terms of ones I like - Luke in DeathStar escape looks promising. As does the Yavin Han.

Do we know what they are planning on for the next waves? I know Wedge was planned at some point.

GRRRRREAT! ANOTHER Luke pilot. Come on! I like the idea of the vintage line, but can't they use these valuable spots for figures that REALLY need to come out on these cards?

I was listening to Kyle Newman on the collector spotlight and he is dead on with what this line SHOULD be.

Grand Moff Tarken

Slave Leia

Blue Snaggletooth

Yak Face

Smuggler outfit Lando

These are all GREAT figures for updated versions or straight repacks. The 2009 Slave Leia is a fantastic figure. Let's finally see her on a Vintage card.

Yak was never released on a US card either.... How about him?

If they REALLY want to crank out generic clones, use the damn Saga Legends line!

I will admit that the new Lando General looks fantastic! Wish they would do the same for the Cloud City Version. I know Hasbro has given us a lot of remarkable figures. I just wish sometimes they could get it a little more right.

You mean to tell me that they don't have a Yoda who would have been appropriate to issue on an Empire card? So they scrap that card, only to spend more on producing an ROTS card to use a current Yoda. Does not seem very cost effective to me.

2010 Vintage packaging - what figure would you like to see? 16645211

LOVE THE LOOK OF THIS ONE - (If anyone sees this one Stateside - Yes Please (will go nicely on my POTF2 Skif)
This is what we should be getting (totally agree Derek) - Classic characters in vintage packaging. I am surprised that Yak face is not there - perhaps he will be the mail away for 2011

2010 Vintage packaging - what figure would you like to see? 16874410

Lando looks good

2010 Vintage packaging - what figure would you like to see? 17961611

Nice card - but why???
We had the VOTC Luke a few years back, then the Hoth version and recent re-release

Noooo!
Another wasted slot in the wave release!

They probably had to do a phase 1 clone trooper. I don't think they have yet but I could be wrong. They are just trying to mix the six movies. If they want people to buy these they should put Jedi on vintage instead of clones for the aotc ones. People buy clones to army build, not to keep carded. I totally agree with the guys on the forcecast, the clones should be saga line repacks. I don't mind them throwing in one of each to the vintage line but they shouldn't get carried away.

Also remember, there is an entire generation who love the prequels and don't like the original movies that much. They may want a clone over a stormtrooper, who knows. That doesn't hold much weight considering our generation was the one with the original cardbacks though. I agree with Kyle Newman, they should have never changed the look of the cards.

It is a lot harder to look through figures now because of the way they hang on the pegs, haha. You have to pull all of them off to get the one you want. I didn't miss that! A lot of the cards are more damaged now because of that too I've noticed.

By the way, if anyone has a 2007 vintage carded Bossk or IG-88 and want to part with it, let me know.

The only thing we are really saying about the Vintage line is that Hasbro knows this is primarily for collectors, AND a great tool to bring that person on the fence about collecting again back into the hobby.

Packing prequel clones that have been done 100 times already should be saved for Saga Legends. They have done this with the commander Gree figure already. He came out during ROTS. They updated him (for the better I must say) in 2008 for The Annaversary collection.

He was REPACKED in 2009 as a Greatest Hits figure. And if I remember correctly was a semi peg warmer. Now, he takes a spot on a Vintage card. Just re pack him as a legends figure and open a spot for something else Vintage.

Legends are for the kids and army builders. I would not buy 5 or 6 Snowtroopers on a Vintage card to open. One to keep, YES. But legends cards are nothing special, so I will tear those suckers open!

Derek

I agree about the Clones being army builders for the Legends range.

There hasn't been a PM wave yet - it must be coming - Will Aurra Sing be in it? That would be good.

In terms of original trilogy - Grand Moff Tarkin, Garindan, Wuher or how about a cantina band member or Emperor's Royal Guard? We haven't had Leia in Ewok celebration garb on an age either or Mon Mothma.

Hasbro has stated that this line will run for 2 years so there is a lot to see yet I hope. But a few more of the unreleased skiff guards would make a nice diorama

Adam - In terms of 2007 Bossk and IG-88 - I have seen these available in the UK for £15 and £13 respectfully. If you wanted them I could order and ship to the US.

No don't worry about it Jim. I'll get them ebay eventually. I wish they would just repack those two now though since they are around $15 each on there.

Has anyone heard about a vintage Zuckuss? They did the exclusive but I assume he'll be back since they did 4-LOM in the first wave.

Not heard anything on Zuckuss. If you don't mind opened Bounty Hunters - the 1st wave of the new Saga wave included Bossk and IG-88 as repacks from the VOTC.

I will get my VOTC together for a photo this weekend. I have Fett on ROTJ and Foil Empire card. Bossk, IG-88, Dengar and the CV Zuckuss and 4-LOM pack (Didn't bother with the Vintage 2010 4-LOM)

Anyone heard what difference there are between the recent Hoth Luke and new Dagobah Luke? - from a film point of view Luke is in the same outfit. It seems the Dagobah version has a new head sculpt and lightsaber.

No. I'm talking about these. But if you take these out of the clam shell, do they look like the vintage cards that are out right now?

2010 Vintage packaging - what figure would you like to see? 33739610

Are those saga labels on the clamshell? I never bought any of these back then.

Basically Jim, I want all of the bounty hunters on vintage cards. I currently have a Boba, Dengar and 4-LOM carded and also the CV exclusive Zuckuss and 4-LOM (names reversed).

YES.

The cardback style that Hasbro is using now is the same style.

I have not heard anything about Zuckuss either. I would say if we see him on a vintage card at all it will be much later in the line. I have NO idea why they put him on a Legends card, knowing 4-LOM would be on Vintage. As much as I am against direct repacks, this one would have actually made sence!

I wonder how many people are now taking the VOTC/TAC/UGH figures out of the clamshells to display them with the current figures. Tempting, but I think I'll keep mine in the clams.
