So who else is excited about this? Rebelscum reported the Amazon pre-order discout price for the entire saga is $50 cheaper!
Rebel Scum Blu-ray article
I bought a Blu-ray player just for this occasion, but with Christmas just behind us, I don't think I can afford to pre-order this yet.

I am really excited! 9 discs with 30 hours of stuff! I knew it was gonna be pricey, but was not expecting 140.00.
Oh well, if I don't do the pre order i'm sure stores will have launch specials. Looks like I'll have to try a lot harder to get my credit card paid off!

Star Wars Blu-ray set comes out in two weeks. I'm trying to find a way to get this. My wife will be scouring the internet tomorrow to find the best deal. I bought the blu-ray player last year just for these discs so I really want to get this set as soon as I can.
Are there any coupons anywhere online for amazon?
A nice new touch if this is real. Wicket with eyelids.
Hoth is looking real nice!

Got this set today at 12:00:01! The local music/movie store I was told would be doing a midnight madness thing. I got there, and turns out they were NOT doing it. But, seeing how I drove 45 min to get there they manager agreed to let me come back at 11:55, and he sold it to me!
I think there is a very good chance I could have been the first person in the country to purchase it and have it in hand! Okay, maybe that is a little far, but Maine is the northernmost state, and it is midnight here on the Easy Coast hours before the rest of the country. I know walmarts were doing midnight madness, so someone else might have beat me to it. But I still like to think I was the first. LOL

I do not own a blu ray player so I have not bought the Saga. Not sure if I will even bother.

I bought the complete saga too. Do not have it in hand yet but I saw the cover art at Sam's club today. I can't wait to get into the extra features. That walmart poster is really cool too.

I went into my Walmart, and they had the posters just spread out laying on a table. I just rolled a few up together and walked out.

Me too Darth Father. No Blu Ray player yet. I'm not so keen on the fact that the set does not include the original versions of the original trilogy. Cleaning up the pictures, adding some more to the total field of view on the edges, are great, but other changes, not so much in my opinion.

Jim, I read the feature! Great work!!!
DJ, I got a poster today. Walmart was sold out of complete saga sets at noon. The guy happened to have two posters left so he gave me one for free. It's a little dinged up but beggars can't be choosers! At least I didn't have to buy another set of discs just to get the poster. It is a sweet poster though!
The way I see it, I have never paid money before for VHS or DVD so this time around I jumped on the train. I got my tapes of the original movies for free back in the day. I bought the blu-ray player last fall just because I new Star Wars was coming and also to stream netfix stuff. I really want to pick up the Clone Wars seasons on blu-ray now too.
What I think is funny is how everyone on facebook is saying "I'm not giving Lucas anymore of my money!" which is fine with me, I don't care. Yet Walmart was totally sold out 24 hours later. Might just be scalpers though, not sure.
I already framed the poster and hung it up. I am in the process of hanging art work and autographs so this will be in the center of them all.

That actually looks REALLY GOOD on a wall! I have so many posters and things to hang, that I will probably take a small section of my room and just feature some items, then be able to change things out from time to time.
I got a total of four posters. I am keeping one, one is going to James. If anyone else would like one, just let me know. I will have TWO that are up for grabs.
Anyone know WHY the US release is so different then the UK version? Package only, I think, but I just don't get it.

DJ, do the discs have pictures of characters on them or just the writing?

No artwork on the US discs. It seems the UK version also has them packed in individual sleeves. The US version is all a hard bound book type case. No plastic removable sleeves, just a thick chip board book. I guess it sort of makes sence, as this is now a complete "story" so the package represents a storybook.
I still just don't understand why the change from the US to the UK.
You can see some pics of the packaging and set HERE: http://www.flickr.com/photos/deejay121/sets/72157627569198025/

After hearing the reviews and lead up info also available on this I am not sure I am going to rush in and buy the complete saga.
Whilst I love SW a lot and also am an avid fan of Blu-Ray and how good it is,am happy to wait.

I just wanted the big price cut. Also, just went to another Walmart and they were sold out too. Just the complete saga. No posters either.

I have not seen this yet but read about it from two different people. They say it looks better than it ever has since you usually see it recorded on old VHS or Beta tapes.

Have you tried any 1138 codes? I'm new to blu-ray but I guess you can type in codes and find things. I'm sure the forcecast guys will have people telling them if they find any.

I tried 1138 on one of the discs, I can't remember which one. It didn't do anything. BUT that does not mean I didn't try it on the right menu, OR that it will not open something on other discs.
You guys are in for some amazing video! This is truely the best the saga has EVER looked! There are shots that will make your mouth hit the floor, and you will feel like your seeing it for the first time.
Empire Yoda..... While still a puppet (And thank goodness he is) looks so alive in the film it is CRAZY. I have currently watched New Hope, and Empire, as well as some of the bonus disc stuff. I really wish they would have added a little bit more to each of the main discs, because all you get is the set up and commentary features.
It makes it a little awkward to have to change the disc for bonus content. Oh well, small price to pay. And I have to say that the small tweeks done to New Hope all seem to fit in rather well. It was REALLY cool to finally see the scene with Luke Biggs and Fixer!

Why would someone spend that much on the disks and then burn them?

I don't know... certainly something I dare say no one has done.
Is a waste of money or resources i.e. the materials used to make the set.
Myself I'd say at the least donating the set to a local library or something like a charity for kids would be more of a good spirited thing to do.
One guy is selling his 1st issue TVC Wedge Antilles carded figure on ebay with proceeds going to a kids charity.

Yeah, what an idiot! I can think of a million ways to protest without doing what he did. Oh well, he's the fool. I'm sure George just laughs when he hears about things like that. He laughs while he's counting his stacks of money. The dude is actually a marketing genius. Who else has released their films this many times and gotten the world to go for it? You know everyone would be quiet if George would just release the original theatrical versions in HD. I heard that may not be possible because of how they altered the original material. I'm sure they can make it happen if they want to. Maybe Katie or Jett will do it someday, then everyone can bash them for trying to make a buck.
